Parisa Ghaderi
Born and raised in Iran, Parisa holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan. Her work has been showcased in prestigious venues such as the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
In her creative pursuits, she explores themes of emotional and physical distance, layered loss, and the ambiguity of language. Her multidisciplinary approach captures moments of vulnerability, silence, and contradiction, influenced by the urgent concerns of immigration and borders.
Through photography, digital and print techniques, and moving images, Parisa examines their materiality and how they transform and contextualize the artistic narrative.
She is an assistant professor of graphic design at Shoreline Community College.
