This August at SOIL, Forrest Perrine will present OOSH, a new line of furniture and furniture-adjacent objects. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind. He believes the spaces you live in should be beautiful and interesting, as much (if not more) form as they are function. While most furniture objects in the world from are designed for mass production and machine perfection, OOSH embraces the creative singularity and imperfection of the maker’s hand. In short, it’s more interested in art than it is “fine woodworking.” Do you need to use a giant flower to rest your coffee cup on? Do you need a pretend Greek column to put your bedside lamp on? A tiny shrine for favorite tiny object? Absolutely not. But obviously yes.
