In The Backspace
Synedoche: a part for the whole
Margot Quan Knight
August 07 – 30, 2014
Reception / Thursday, August 07, 6–8pm
How does a trace speak for its referent? Margot Quan Knight reduces doilies to shadow, texture, and narrative through a series of material experiments. Transformed, these traces reclaim the beauty of their complex structure and celebrate aesthetic labor.
This project was made possible by support from the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.
