I draw in my sketchbook while killing time, letting my mind wander, or waiting to fall asleep. These drawings exist as a record of flotsam moments — a testament to almost nothing. But the scattered, unorganized ideas and thoughts that flow free in my sketchbooks coalesce into a more cohesive framework of my subconscious when taken as a whole.

The title of this show, Wasted Time, is a nod to these moments. I’ve included an installation of sketchbook drawings, dream records and journal entries as a raw visual record of my mental wanderings. The doodles, scribbles and repetitive mark-making found in my drawings and journals frequently inform the shapes and designs in my larger works. Wasted Time also refers to the action of getting wasted, as my work often examines the dangers of over intoxication.
