October 04 – 27, 2018
Reception / Thursday, October 04, 6–8pm

The sight of a simpler negative answer features lens-based works by Angharad Davies (London), Laura Hart Newlon (Seattle), and Alina Tenser (Brooklyn) that variously interrogate the manifold qualities of objects. Drawing its title from Gertrude Stein’s Tender Buttons, the exhibition examines processes of erasure, fragmentation, and manipulation as methods of revealing what an object is not, as much as what it is.
