Mistiko: A Performance Installation

The word Mistiko translates to mystic. Candied Calamari uses this word to describe the importance of ritual and the sacred treatment of objects in their performance/installation at SOIL Gallery. Mistiko will display live actresses engaging in sacramental action in a futuristic landscape.The space will be altered by the actions of the performers and will remain with the residual evidence of activity for the remainder of the exhibition.

Candied Calamari is a collaboration between artists Rachel Debuque and Danielle Peters. Debuque and Peters met at the University of Georgia and formed by their collaboration over an interest in pattern, performance, and color.
