I fight with them, with myself, with the chairs, with the air, with then, with now.

I sit, I rest, I play. I hide. I remember.

I forget.

But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter, because I am myself.

Three selves at least.

ARTIST BIOS /

Sophia Anderson is a member of the Shoalwater Bay Tribe, and grew up on the reservation, located on a rural corner of the Pacific coast. Her work is inspired by the transition from her traditional land and tribal community to her community in Seattle. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Evergreen State College.

Elizabeth Calvillo Dueñas was born to a family of corn and bean farmers in a small village, La Yerbabuena (“Spearmint”), in Michoacán (“Place of the Fishermen”), México. She received a BFA in Photo/Media from the University of Washington. She currently lives in the Snohomish countryside with her corgi, Tzinztuni.

Jasmine Fetterman uses a multi-disciplinary and research-based approach to explore the complex and fluid nature of identity as a universal concept throughout humanity. As an Eastern European, first generation American, they reference themes of western histories, mythologies, and aesthetics to explore politics of the queer body and its relationship to constructed space. Their desire is to create space to include and normalize queer bodies within film, media, and the art world.

Jia Jia is a multi-media artist. She works primarily in installation. Her practice uses satire and humor to imagine everyday objects anew. Her work questions how globalization and a technologically saturated society influence the ideology of the individual and how the individual behaves in a society filled with contradiction and stimulation. She earned her BFA in Ceramics from China Central Academy of Fine Arts and MFA in Sculpture from the University of Washington.

Chloe King (b. 1999, lives and works in Seattle) is a multidisciplinary artist who works in between painting and photography. King’s work is born from her experience as a mixed-race queer womxn from a small, predominantly white town and explores notions of identity, power, and perception through vibrant and chaotic textiles, plants, and paper-covered figures in dystopian settings and misleading backdrops. King received their BFA degree 2021 from Cornish College of the Arts.

May Kytonen is a visual artist based in Seattle, WA, creating work sourced from her mixed Taiwanese heritage. Since earning a degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington in 2012, her work and installations have been exhibited throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Her current body of work is an exploration of Asian-American identity and belonging.
