In The Backspace

Guerrilla Ceramica

Christopher Buening

June 01 – 30, 2017
Reception / Thursday, June 01, 6–8pm

In 2016 Christopher received an Arts Projects Grant from 4Culture to install a kiln in his studio so that he could mount a series of pop-up street installations done in ceramic. Every weekend in April 2017, he put a new installation in a different Seattle park. Times and locations were published only on social media the day before and people were encouraged to take pieces from the installations so they would slowly disappear. For his June show at SOIL, expect artifacts and photographs, some stories about how the project went, and new ceramic work.

This work would not have been possible without generous funding by 4Culture!
