“everything we come in contact with becomes a condition of our existence”
— Hannah Arendt

An old diary from the Civil War, unburied, has pressed me between a past and now. I have been collecting and drying flowers and seeds as a way to think about what gets passed down (and also the possibility of rejuvenation and seeding again and bringing new terms into being). These pieces  are early attempts to be deliberate and deliberate on acknowledging my white racial history.

Gallery talk & poem reading Saturday, January 14, 12:00pm
