In The Backspace

Spray Tan

Ben Hirschkoff

October 02 – November 01, 2014
Reception / Thursday, October 02, 6–8pm

In this exhibition, Ben Hirschkoff introduces a new veil to previously unfinished collage and sculpture found in his studio. Using an air brush purchased from a spray tanning salon, Hirschkoff applies imagery and “special effects” reminiscent of science fiction, new age mysticism and glamor touch-ups. The result transforms puzzle-like, deconstructed cloud patterns into hieroglyphs implying a possible logic behind chaos.
