Artist Talk / Saturday, July 28, 12pm

Join us at SOIL on Saturday July 28th at noon for a brunch and artist talk. Anthony Sonnenberg, Carolyn Hopkins, and Emily Nachison will be presenting on their work and taking questions. Saya Moriyasu will speak about her show Verdant. Come have a bite and some coffee, sit back and listen – and feel free to engage!

With the enthusiasm of Spring, Saya's sculptures and paintings capture vitality. Out of the rain streaks and clouds comes unfledged pods ready to soak up light. The pods gather to make their own landscape of miniature mountains and to celebrate exuberant and undecayed life.

Saya Moriyasu is an artist based in Seattle, Washington. She has exhibited at venues including the Henry Art Gallery (Gift Shop Project), the Bellevue Arts Museum, Aqua Art Miami, IC Gallery in Los Angeles and Montserrate College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts. After graduating with an BFA from the University of Washington, Moriyasu was awarded residencies at Skowhegan and at Pilchuck Glass School. She is a member of SOIL Artist-Run Gallery and is represented by G. Gibson Gallery.
