Reception / Thursday, January 5, 6–9pm

Hardline Organics is a two part show organized by the co-curators Craig Miller and Yuki Nakamura. Part one will take place at SOIL Backspace Gallery in January 2006 and the group of artists work on a series of collaborative sculpture pieces and drawings. These pieces to deal with concepts of forms and spaces that would be hard or unlikely to ever be realized. Monumental, futuristic, fluid, fragile, archaic or otherwise impractical or outcast. The hope is to create an overall feeling of absurd optimism in the potential of shapes, forms, and creations.

Participating artists include Jenny Heishman, Etsuko Ichikawa, Mark Johnson, and Saya Moriyasu, along with the curators Miller and Nakamura.

Part two will take place at SOIL Main Gallery in June 2006 and it is to design and build a fully immersive, transformative installation within the gallery space in collaboration with the same group of artists.
