May 5 – 29, 2005
Reception / Thursday, May 5, 6–9:30pm

Perspect is the Seattle debut of Portland based installation and video artist Laura Fritz. Her mysterious, minimalist lab–like settings have earned high critical praise, placing her as a key artist in Portland's recent explosion in art activity and sophistication.

Says Laura: My aim is to catalyze curiosity and inspire mixed feelings of attraction and unease. I am interested in the cool tension that results from the manipulation of natural systems and unnatural settings before the interaction is understood.

"a gorgeous installation...tables lit from below, displaying jellylike objects (and an unforgettable moving, crackling hairball)."
