Opens First Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 5-8pm
Showing through February 1
A Place for Memories and Secrets features paintings by Susanna Bluhm, ceramic and mixed media work by Christopher Buening, and sculpture and installation by London Tsai. This show evolved from a theme their work shares: personal memory and the role it plays in the navigation of public and private space.
Susanna Bluhm’s new paintings are based on her experience of Yosemite, CA—as a child visiting every year with her family, and on a trip this May that was funded by a grant from Artist Trust.
Christopher Buening uses a diverse range of media in a confession of past events encapsulating and reconciling memory.
Miami artist London Tsai gives object-hood to cherished memories of states of being and has recently been examining our life and presence in the virtual world, our memories and secrets under the gaze of the internet.
