Themes of fragility and resilience, play and labor resurface in this series of small ceramic objects. The little constructions made with the vitreous clay and covered with a sensual buttery glaze are suggestive of haphazard DIY architecture. Each element is in balance, yet, seemingly precarious, nearing fatal collapse.
Pieces were created during the Arts/Industry residency, a 3 month long residency program of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Inc. Arts/Industry took place at Kohler Co. from September through December 2011.
